LFD recovery guide for LA/LB import containers

When last free day is close, the question is not just whether a truck is available. The real decision is whether the container should move direct, pre-pull to yard, hold for appointment, transload, or wait for a cleaner receiving window.

Immediate checks

Before choosing a recovery plan, confirm the facts that control the move.

Terminal and release

Confirm the terminal, pickup number, container availability, holds, LFD, container size and whether a chassis plan is needed.

Warehouse appointment

Check whether the receiver can unload now, needs a strict appointment, allows drops, or requires palletized freight instead of a live container.

Risk window

Compare demurrage risk against yard storage, chassis time, redelivery, transload and appointment failure risk.

Next step

Send the LFD, terminal, container and appointment details to ABFBA.

ABFBA reviews whether direct delivery, pre-pull, yard hold, transload or reappointment is the most realistic path.
