When last free day is close, the question is not just whether a truck is available. The real decision is whether the container should move direct, pre-pull to yard, hold for appointment, transload, or wait for a cleaner receiving window.

Warehouse appointment
Check whether the receiver can unload now, needs a strict appointment, allows drops, or requires palletized freight instead of a live container.
Risk window
Compare demurrage risk against yard storage, chassis time, redelivery, transload and appointment failure risk.
Decision paths
LFD recovery is usually one of four operating choices.
Option 1
Direct delivery
Best when the warehouse is ready, appointment is confirmed and empty return can be planned without compressing driver time.
Option 2Pre-pull to yard
Useful when LFD arrives before receiving is ready and the container can be staged safely before final delivery.
Option 3Yard hold and redelivery
Works when the warehouse needs a later slot, but the shipment does not require immediate unloading or pallet work.
Option 4Transload
Useful when the receiver cannot unload the container, freight needs pallet work, or staged domestic delivery is more practical.
